Theatre Camp Testimonials

Updated: Jul 9, 2024

(The theatre camp families know me as Micci and Micaela, so bear in mind the testimonials reflect that!)

LANA - CENTRESTAGE THEATRE

To step into the world crafted by Micaela Comeau is like tiptoeing through a land where imagination knows no bounds. As a teenager, Micaela directed and produced How the Pea Came to Be at CentreStage Theatre which propelled a remarkable journey into the realm of children's theatre, where her creative genius blossomed into captivating tales that continue to enchant audiences of all ages. Not only was her production on our stage but it was offered as a summer camp as well.

Most inspiring of all is Micaela's passion for empowering young voices. Through her work, she not only entertains but also educates, instilling valuable lessons of kindness, resilience, and the power of dreaming big. Her commitment to fostering creativity and self-expression serves as a beacon of hope for aspiring artists everywhere, reminding us that no dream is too small and no stage is too big.

PARENT - CARMEL

"A Magical Summer Experience at Micaela Comeau’s Children’s Theatre Camp!

Our experience at the Micaela’s Children's Theatre Camps were nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, the welcoming and enthusiastic staff made my children feel like a star. The camp's environment is not only nurturing and inclusive but also incredibly fun, making it the perfect place for young minds to explore their creativity.

Each day was filled with a variety of activities that catered to all aspects of theatre production, from acting and singing to dancing and set design. My children were thrilled to try everything and enjoyed the hands-on approach the camp took. It was wonderful to see them come home every day buzzing with excitement and stories of what they learned and did.

The end-of-camp performance was a highlight, showcasing the hard work and talent of all the kids involved. It was professionally organized, and the children shone on stage, filled with confidence and joy. It was truly heartwarming to watch.

Moreover, the camp did an excellent job of fostering teamwork and friendship among the campers. My children made new friends and learned the importance of collaboration, which is essential in both theatre and life.

We returned summer after summer and highly recommend this camp to any parent looking for a safe, educational, and thoroughly enjoyable experience for their child.

Thank you to Micaela and her staff at the Children’s Theatre Camp, for such a memorable and enriching summer!"

LAYA - CAMPER

I have been to four of Micaela’s theater camps, and they were the highlight of my summer for all four years! Every day was varied and filled with little moments of happiness, whether that was the joy of seeing scenes come to life for the first time, the amusement of standing around the piano and learning new tongue-twister vocal warmups, or the creative rush of getting involved in decorating stage props for the show. I miss the stage whenever I think back on it.

I also learned real lessons about theater from these camps! Tips about how to better get inside the mind of the character you’re playing, little details about prop making, and little pieces of how to read music. All of this was delivered engagingly and added to the entire whimsical experience. I got involved with more of the theatrical process than just performing, and I enjoyed it much more than I ever would have thought, so much so that when the camp was over, I would already look forward to next year. It is truly incredible just how much joy can be crammed into one afternoon, and these camps are the place where I learned that.

Jennifer Heisler - Glooscap and Port Williams Elementary School

Micaela puts on a very friendly, welcoming performance. Children are intrigued by the live instrumental performance and as a music teacher, this is a memorable experience that we can refer back to in the music room later. Micaela brought along some young musicians which our students found fascinating and inspiring!

Micaela writes striking songs with positive themes encouraging self confidence and self worth, the value of imagination, creativity, kindness, environmentalism and just being playful. Students particularly loved any opportunity to sing along with a catchy chorus. I would recommend Micaela as a performer to welcome to any Elementary School audience.
